Wealth reduces Empathy

As people gain extreme wealth, they often grow more detached and less empathetic, insulated from the realities most others face. Figures like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg reflect this pattern, with Musk’s perceived shift over time being especially striking. While exceptions like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett exist, they stand out precisely because they’re rare. At a certain point, extreme wealth isn’t just personal success—it’s concentrated power, and allowing it to coexist with widespread poverty raises serious ethical questions about whether that level of wealth should even be permitted.
